Quipus, sometimes known as khipus or 'talking knots', were recording devices historically used in the region of Andean South America.
A quipu usually consisted of colored, spun, and plied thread or strings made from cotton or camelid fiber. For the Inca, the system aided in collecting data and keeping records, ranging from monitoring tax obligations, properly collecting census records, calendrical information and military organization.

This quipu is encoded with the following message from Julian Assange of WikiLeaks in International Morse Code:

"The TPP has developed in secret an unaccountable supranational court for multinationals to sue states. This system is a challenge to parliamentary and judicial sovereignty. Similar tribunals have already been shown to chill the adoption of sane environmental protection, public health and public transport policies."
